Salvador International Airport (AIES) Expansion Project

Salvador International Airport (AIES) Expansion Project

In early 2022, Dongguan GERITEL Electrical Co., Ltd. provided tailored electrical wire solutions for the expansion project of El Salvador’s San Oscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdámez International Airport (AIES), a key infrastructure initiative with a total investment of $56 million. Facing pain points such as the need for UL-certified products, tight delivery timelines, and diverse wiring requirements, the AIES project team chose GERITEL for our rich experience in large-scale infrastructure projects, complete UL certification, and professional pre-sales and after-sales support. The core products supplied included THHN nylon insulated copper wire (12 AWG, 10 AWG, 8 AWG), MC Cable (4 AWG to 1/0 AWG), and Type TC-ER Power Cables (2/0 AWG to 4/0 AWG), each selected for their unique advantages in adapting to different airport scenarios. All products met strict UL standards (UL 62 for THHN nylon insulated copper wire, UL 1569 for MC Cable, UL 1277 for Type TC-ER Power Cables) and used high-purity copper conductors complying with ASTM B-3 standards. Delivered in three batches between June and October 2022, the products ensured the stable operation of the airport’s electrical system, contributing to the project’s successful completion in February 2023. This cooperation demonstrated GERITEL’s ability to provide reliable, certified electrical wire solutions for critical infrastructure projects, winning recognition from the project team and laying a foundation for future cooperation in El Salvador.

Uruguay Kahirós Green Hydrogen Project
Uruguay Kahirós Green Hydrogen Project
This case study focuses on the successful export of high-quality electrical wires to the Kahirós Project—Uruguay’s landmark green hydrogen production facility located in Fray Bentos, launched in October 2024 with a total investment of USD 38.6 million. Scheduled for operation in 2026, the project aims to produce green hydrogen for heavy-duty forestry logistics trucks, reducing annual carbon emissions by 870 tons. As a core supplier, Dongguan GERITEL Electrical Co., Ltd. provided customized cable solutions tailored to the project’s extreme environmental conditions and international safety standards. The client’s key pain points included: high humidity and temperature fluctuations requiring corrosion-resistant, moisture-proof cables; mandatory UL certification for global compliance; and demand for a one-stop solution covering multiple application scenarios (solar panel interconnection, medium-voltage power transmission, and control systems). To address these challenges, GERITEL supplied three core product series: XHHW Wire (including XHHW XLPE insulated power cable), MV-90 Cable, and PLTC/ITC Cable, each with specific specifications optimized for the project. All products hold authoritative UL certifications (UL 44 for XHHW, UL 83 for MV-90, UL 13/2250 for PLTC/ITC), ensuring compliance with Uruguayan and international electrical safety regulations. Our strict quality control—from high-purity copper conductors to premium XLPE insulation—guaranteed long-term reliability and durability. The project team ensured on-time delivery within 45 days of production, with efficient logistics and pre-cleared customs documentation, arriving at the site 15 days after shipment. Post-commissioning, all cables have operated stably, supporting the project’s annual green hydrogen production of 77 tons. The client highly recognized GERITEL’s product quality, technical expertise, and one-stop service, confirming future cooperation and recommending us to other green energy projects in Ur

Uruguay Cerro Grande + Peralta 169MW Wind Farm Renovation
Uruguay Cerro Grande + Peralta 169MW Wind Farm Renovation
This case study details the successful collaboration between Dongguan GERITEL Electrical Co., Ltd. and the contractor of the Cerro Grande + Peralta Wind Farm Combination (169MW) renovation and upgrade project in Uruguay, completed in 2024. Faced with critical challenges—including rapid aging of existing cables due to severe local climate (high UV radiation, extreme temperature fluctuations, high humidity), stringent UL certification requirements for regulatory compliance, a tight 6-month construction timeline, and the need for a one-stop solution with a comprehensive product range—the project required a reliable electrical wire supplier. GERITEL provided a customized solution featuring three key UL-certified products: XHHW Wire (including XHHW panel wire, 12 AWG to 4/0 AWG) for wind turbine control panels and distribution boxes, MV-90 Cable (35kV, 3-core, 250 kcmil to 500 kcmil) for medium-voltage power transmission, and Control Cables (Type TC-ER) (18 AWG to 10 AWG, 2 to 12 cores) for outdoor control systems. Each product was selected for its superior performance, durability, and compliance compared to alternatives. Backed by strict quality control, complete UL certifications (UL 758, UL 1581, UL 2556), and efficient logistics, GERITEL delivered over 160,000 meters of cables in 45 days, ensuring on-time arrival and on-site technical support. The project was finished one month ahead of schedule, reducing maintenance costs by 40%, boosting power generation efficiency by 5% (equivalent to powering 20,000 households), and extending the electrical system’s service life by 10 years. Client feedback highlighted the exceptional reliability, cost-effectiveness, and compliance of our products, confirming GERITEL as a trusted partner for renewable energy projects worldwide.
