In 2024, Kampala Cement, a leading industrial enterprise in Uganda, launched a large-scale expansion project for its fertilizer production facility in Kampala. First, the fertilizer production process involves high temperature, humidity, and chemical corrosion, which puts strict requirements on the corrosion resistance, high-temperature resistance and insulation performance of wires. The local wires supplied by previous suppliers often had insulation aging and conductor oxidation problems after a short period of use, leading to frequent power failures and affecting production efficiency. Second, the project had a tight construction period, and the customer needed a supplier that could deliver large quantities of wires on time to avoid delaying the overall construction progress. Third, as a large-scale industrial project, the electrical system required wires that met international standards and had authoritative certifications to ensure operational safety and pass local safety inspections. Fourth, the customer hoped to find a supplier with high cost performance, which could reduce the project budget without compromising product quality.
In addition, the customer had high requirements for the diversity of wire specifications. The expansion project included internal wiring of production equipment, power supply for workshop lighting, and external power transmission, which required different types and specifications of wires. After preliminary communication, the customer clearly put forward the demand forH05V2-U, H07V-K, and unarmored YJV wires, and hoped that we could provide detailed specifications and sample testing services to verify the product quality in advance.
2. Tailored Wires for Fertilizer Production Scenarios

First, H05V2-U wire, which is mainly used for internal wiring of fertilizer production equipment. We provided multiple specifications including 1×1.5mm², 1×2.5mm², 2×1.5mm², 3×1.5mm², and 4×2.5mm². This wire is manufactured in accordance with EN 50525-2-31 standard, with a rated voltage of 300/500V and a maximum conductor temperature of +90°C, which can adapt to the high-temperature environment inside the production equipment. Its PVC insulation layer has excellent corrosion resistance, which can effectively resist the erosion of chemical gases generated during fertilizer production, avoiding insulation damage and short circuits. Compared with ordinary local wires,H05V2-U has better mechanical strength and wear resistance, and its minimum bending radius of 10d (d is the cable diameter) makes it easier to install in the narrow space of equipment.
Second, H07V-K wire, which is used for workshop lighting and switchgear wiring. We provided a variety of specifications such as 1×1.5mm², 1×2.5mm², 1×4mm², 2×1.5mm², and H07V-K 3X1.5MM. This wire adopts class 5 flexible copper conductor, which has good electrical conductivity and flexibility, making it suitable for complex layout installations in workshops. Its rated voltage is 450/750V, and the shock and abrasion resistant PVC sheath can effectively protect the conductor from mechanical damage caused by equipment vibration. The H07V-K 3G1.5 model is specially used for the wiring of workshop emergency lighting systems, which can ensure stable power supply in case of sudden power failure, providing a safety guarantee for the production workshop. Compared with similar products on the market, our H07V-K wire has passed IEC 60227-2 and HD 21.3 certifications, with stricter quality control and more stable performance.

Third, unarmored YJV cable, which is used for external power transmission of the facility, undertaking the task of transmitting large currents to the entire production line. We provided specifications such as 3×50mm²+1×25mm², 3×70mm²+1×35mm², 4×120mm², 4×240mm², and 4×300mm². This cable uses cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation, which has better high-temperature resistance and insulation performance than ordinary PVC insulation cables, and can withstand a long-term operating temperature of 90°C. The unarmored design is more lightweight and easy to lay, which is suitable for the external power transmission of the facility without the need for heavy protection. At the same time, the YJV cable has a large current-carrying capacity, which can meet the power demand of the expanded production line, avoiding the problem of line overheating caused by insufficient current-carrying capacity.
In addition to providing high-quality products, we also launched a sample service specially for the customer. Before formal bulk order, we sent samples of all specified models to Kampala Cement for testing, including insulation resistance test, high-temperature resistance test and corrosion resistance test. The test results fully met the customer’s requirements and international standards, which laid a solid foundation for the cooperation between the two parties. For example, the H05V2-U wire has an insulation resistance of not less than 1×10¹⁰ Ω·cm at 90°C, and the H07V-K wire has passed the flame retardant test in accordance with IEC 60332-1-2, which can effectively prevent the spread of fire in case of electrical failure.
Compared with the local suppliers considered by the customer, our products have obvious advantages in safety performance. The local wires often lack authoritative certifications, and the quality control is not strict, which is prone to insulation aging, conductor oxidation and other problems, bringing potential safety hazards to the project. The customer’s total order quantity was about 80,000 meters, including 35,000 meters of H05V2-U wire, 30,000 meters of H07V-K wire (including 8,000 meters of H07V-K 3G1.5), and 15,000 meters of unarmored YJV cable. In order to complete the production task efficiently, we adjusted the production schedule, arranged special production lines and technical personnel, and optimized the production process to improve production efficiency. At the same time, we established a real-time communication mechanism with the customer, timely feedback the production progress, so that the customer could grasp the delivery situation in advance.

We also prepared all the necessary documents for export, including commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and product certification documents, to ensure that the goods could pass through Ugandan customs smoothly. Finally, we completed the production and delivery task ahead of the customer’s expected time, which provided sufficient time for the customer’s construction team to carry out electrical installation and ensured the smooth progress of the expansion project.
