In 2023, we partnered with a local renewable energy enterprise in Lebanon to supply high-quality wires and cables for the Farza Solar Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Station project. As Lebanon struggles with a severe energy crisis—with public power grids providing less than two hours of electricity per day—solar energy has become a critical solution for sustainable development, and EV charging stations are emerging as essential infrastructure to support the country’s shift to green transportation. This project, located in Farza, a suburban area of Beirut, aimed to build a comprehensive solar EV charging station with 12 charging piles, integrating solar power generation and EV charging to address the dual challenges of energy scarcity and environmental protection. Our team successfully provided customized wire solutions, solving the client’s core pain points and delivering a reliable, efficient, and cost-effective supply chain experience.
1. The Client’s Dilemma in Wire Selection for Middle East Solar EV Projects
The client, a leading renewable energy developer in Lebanon, has long been committed to promoting solar energy applications and green transportation infrastructure. When launching the Farza Solar EV Charging Station project, they encountered significant challenges in selecting and sourcing wires and cables, which directly threatened the project’s progress and long-term operational safety. These pain points were typical for Middle East solar EV projects, reflecting the region’s unique market demands and regulatory requirements.
First, the client struggled with strict certification requirements. Middle Eastern countries, including Lebanon, have rigorous access policies for electrical products, and wires and cables must obtain relevant international and regional certifications to pass customs clearance and ensure operational safety. Many potential suppliers the client contacted failed to provide valid certifications such as GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) certification, TÜV certification, and CE certification, making their products ineligible for import and use in the project. Second, the client faced the balance between cost and quality. Due to Lebanon’s economic situation and the project’s budget constraints, they needed wires with competitive prices, but they refused to compromise on quality—substandard wires would lead to frequent failures, safety hazards, and increased maintenance costs in the harsh Middle Eastern environment (high temperature, strong sunlight, and occasional sandstorms). Third, the client required a fast delivery cycle. The project was part of Lebanon’s green energy promotion plan, with a tight construction schedule, and delayed wire delivery would directly affect the project’s completion and commissioning. Finally, the client needed wires tailored to the Middle East market’s usage habits, which must be compatible with solar power generation systems and EV charging equipment, with specific specifications to meet the project’s power transmission needs.
After extensive market research and comparison, the client chose Dongguan GERITEL Electrical Co., Ltd. because of our professional strength in wire export, complete certification system, competitive pricing, and efficient delivery capacity. We quickly launched a special project team to communicate with the client in detail, understand the project’s specific requirements, and develop a targeted wire supply solution.
2. Tailored Wires for Farza Solar EV Charging Station
Based on the client’s needs and the project’s characteristics, we customized a complete wire solution covering PV cables, flexible wires, and control cables, all of which meet Middle East market habits and project specifications. The core products included PV cable, H05VV-F flexible wire, and KVV control cable, with detailed specifications and quantities matched to the project’s actual requirements.
The most critical product for the solar power generation part of the project was the PV cable, which is responsible for transmitting electricity generated by solar panels to the inverter and energy storage system. We recommended our high-performance PV cable, including the 1x4 mm PV cable, which is specially designed for solar energy systems. Compared with ordinary cables, our PV cable uses XLPO insulation and sheath material, which can withstand extreme temperatures ranging from -40℃ to +90℃, effectively resisting UV radiation and aging caused by long-term exposure to the Middle Eastern sun. The 1x4 mm PV cable has a conductor made of oxygen-free tinned copper, which enhances oxidation resistance and ensures stable power transmission with low loss. We supplied a total of 11,000 meters of PV cable for the project, including 6,000 meters of 1x4mm PV cable, 4,000 meters of 1x6 mm PV cable, and 2,000 meters of 1x2.5 mm PV cable, covering the connection between solar panels, inverters, and energy storage equipment.

For the EV charging pile and station internal wiring, we provided H05VV-F flexible PVC insulated and sheathed wire, a commonly used wire in the Middle East market for indoor and outdoor low-voltage wiring. This wire complies with IEC 60227-5 and VDE 0281 standards, and is available in multiple core numbers and specifications to meet different wiring needs. We supplied 6,200 meters of H05VV-F wire, including 2,500 meters of 2x1.5mm², 2,000 meters of 3x2.5mm², and 1,700 meters of 4x4mm². The H05VV-F wire is flexible, easy to install in narrow spaces of charging piles, and has good flame retardancy and moisture resistance, adapting to the damp and high-temperature environment of the charging station. Compared with other similar products on the market, our H05VV-F wire uses high-quality PVC material, which has better wear resistance and longer service life, while maintaining a competitive price.
To ensure the stable operation of the charging station’s control system, we provided KVV control cable, which is used to transmit control signals between the control room, charging piles, and solar power generation system. The KVV cable we supplied has a 4-core, 6-core, and 8-core structure, with a conductor cross-section of 1.5mm² and 2.5mm², totaling 5,800 meters. This cable has good anti-interference performance, effectively avoiding signal interference from the surrounding power lines and ensuring accurate and stable operation of the control system. Unlike ordinary control cables, our KVV cable uses a multi-strand conductor structure, which is more flexible and easier to lay, and the insulation layer is thickened to enhance insulation performance and safety.
In addition to the core products, we also supplemented YJV power cable (3x10mm², 1,200 meters) according to the project’s actual needs, which is used for power transmission between the charging station and the public grid. This cable has strong mechanical protection performance, suitable for direct burial and outdoor harsh environments, meeting the Middle East market’s requirements for power cable durability.
3. Certified Quality to Eliminate Risks
For solar EV charging station projects, safety is the top priority, and the quality and certification of wires directly determine the project’s safety and operational stability. We have always adhered to the principle of “quality first” and provided the client with complete certification documents to eliminate their concerns about product compliance and safety.
All our wires supplied for this project have obtained international and regional certifications required by the Middle East market. The PV cable has passed TÜV certification (in line with EN 50618 standard) and GCC certification, ensuring its compliance with the Middle East’s strict technical regulations for solar products. The H05VV-F wire and KVV control cable have obtained CE, RoHS, and GCC certifications, and the YJV power cable has passed ISO 9001 and GCC certifications, ensuring that all products can pass Lebanese customs clearance smoothly and meet the project’s safety standards. We also provided the client with detailed product test reports, including voltage resistance test, flame retardant test, and high-temperature aging test, proving the product’s quality and performance.

In addition to certification, we also strictly control the production process. All wires are produced in accordance with international standards, using high-quality raw materials (such as oxygen-free copper conductors and XLPO insulation material) to ensure low resistance, high conductivity, and long service life. We conducted 100% quality inspection before delivery, including appearance inspection, size measurement, and electrical performance test, to ensure that each roll of wire meets the project’s requirements. Compared with other suppliers who cut corners to reduce costs, our products have higher reliability and safety, which is the key reason why the client chose us.
