GERITEL
Apr 21,2026
Against the backdrop of accelerating global energy transition and the shift of the European solar market from "subsidy-driven" to "electricity price-driven", Poland, as a core market in Central and Eastern European solar industry, is experiencing a boom in the construction of large-scale utility-scale solar PV power plants. In 2023, we successfully partnered with the Poland Rutki 100MW Utility-Scale Solar PV Power Plant project (hereinafter referred to as the "Rutki Project"), and successfully completed the supply of the full range of electrical wires for the project with compliant products, customized solutions and efficient delivery capabilities. We solved multiple core pain points for the customer and set a benchmark case for the export of Chinese electrical wires to the EU solar market. This article will detail the entire process of the cooperation, providing a referenceable electrical wire supply solution for more EPC companies and project parties laying out the Polish and EU solar markets. Core Keywords: Poland solar wire export, H1Z2Z2-K solar cable, EU TÜV certified solar wire, Poland 100MW solar power plant cable.
I. Pain Points of the Rutki Project
The Rutki Project is located in Mazovia Province in northern Poland, adjacent to the Baltic Sea coast. It is a key benchmark project under Poland's "2030 Renewable Energy Development Plan" with a total installed capacity of 100MW, covering an area of approximately 220 hectares and including nearly 300,000 solar modules. Upon completion, the project can meet the annual electricity demand of about 20,000 households, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by nearly 80,000 tons per year, which is equivalent to planting about 440,000 adult trees. It plays an important strategic role in Poland's energy structure transformation and reducing dependence on imported energy. The project is undertaken by a well-known local EPC company in Europe. At that time, it was in a critical period of rapid iteration of Poland's solar market, facing both industry common challenges and personalized project difficulties, making the promotion process extremely arduous.
From the perspective of the overall environment of Poland's solar market, 2023 is a key node for the transformation of Poland's solar industry from "large-scale expansion" to "high-quality development". For many years before, Poland's solar market was mainly driven by government subsidies, with relatively stable investment returns. However, with the gradual withdrawal of subsidy policies and the outbreak of the European energy crisis after the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the market pattern has been completely changed. As a major energy consumer in Central and Eastern Europe, Poland has maintained high electricity prices, and industrial enterprises and commercial institutions have invested in solar projects with unprecedented enthusiasm to reduce electricity costs. Large-scale utility-scale ground-mounted solar power plants have become the core focus of market investment.
At the same time, the rapid heating up of the market has also brought a series of chain reactions: on the one hand, the number of EPC companies has surged, and the industry competition has entered a white-hot stage. In order to compete for project orders, companies have continuously reduced quotes, resulting in continuous compression of profit margins. This has put forward harsh requirements for core auxiliary materials such as electrical wires – "low price but must be compliant". On the other hand, Poland's power grid infrastructure construction lags behind the speed of solar installed capacity growth, leading to serious queuing for grid connection. Some projects even face the awkward situation of "completed but unable to connect to the grid". The long grid connection approval cycle and high uncertainty have become the biggest bottleneck restricting project implementation.
Combined with the specific situation of the Rutki Project, its challenges are more prominent. Firstly, the project is located in northern Poland, where winters are cold and snowy, summers are hot and rainy, and humidity is always high, with the minimum temperature reaching -40℃ and frequent extreme weather. This puts forward higher requirements for the cold resistance, UV resistance, aging resistance and corrosion resistance of electrical wires than ordinary solar projects. Ordinary solar cables are prone to insulation layer cracking and conductor embrittlement in low-temperature environments, which cannot adapt to the long-term harsh outdoor environment. Secondly, as a key solar project in northern Poland, the project is subject to strict supervision by EU and Polish local environmental protection and safety standards. All electrical equipment must comply with EU standards such as TÜV, IEC and CPR, and complete certification documents and test reports must be provided, with extremely high compliance thresholds. Thirdly, the project has a tight schedule and heavy tasks, planning to take only 12 months from start-up to grid connection. As a core auxiliary material for solar power plant construction, the supply speed of electrical wires directly affects the overall construction progress. Once supply is delayed, it will directly lead to project delay and further affect project benefits, which puts extremely high requirements on the delivery capacity of suppliers.
After multiple comparisons, the project party finally chose to cooperate with us. The core consideration is that we not only have complete EU certifications and rich supply experience for large-scale solar projects, but also can provide a one-stop solution of "compliance + low cost + fast delivery", which accurately matches the core needs of the project.
II. Core Products
In response to the needs of the Rutki Project, we launched a full range of EU-standard-compliant solar wire products, covering DC side, AC side, MV side and grounding auxiliary systems. Among them, H1Z2Z2-K Solar Cable and PV1-F Solar Cable as core products on the DC side have become the most used wire types in the project, and all our products have passed strict certification to ensure access to the EU market.
Our solar wires have obtained TÜV authoritative certification with the certificate number B 126326 0001 Rev.00, and fully comply with EU standards such as IEC and CPR. Each batch of products has undergone strict testing to ensure that all performance indicators meet the requirements, completely solving the customer's core concern of "non-compliance". The core parameters and structure of the products are as follows: the main DC side uses H1Z2Z2-K Solar Cable, which adopts a double-layer insulation structure. Compared with single-insulation solar cables, it has better electrical and mechanical performance, with a rated voltage of DC 1.5kV and AC 1.0kV, higher transmission efficiency and stronger stability. The conductor is made of high-purity oxygen-free copper, using multi-strand fine wire stranding technology, which has good flexibility and is easy for outdoor construction, while reducing conductive loss.
The insulation layer and sheath are made of irradiated cross-linked low-smoke halogen-free flame-retardant polyolefin material, which is divided into red and black to facilitate the distinction of positive and negative poles and adapt to the connection scenario of solar modules. The product can operate stably in an environment of -40℃ ~ +90℃, the maximum operating temperature of the conductor can reach 120℃, and the short-circuit temperature can reach 200℃ for 5 seconds. It has strong cold resistance, UV resistance and aging resistance, and is perfectly adapted to the harsh climate characteristics of northern Poland, with an expected service life of up to 25 years.
The backup/economical product on the DC side uses PV1-F Solar Cable with a specification of 1×4mm². It adopts a single insulation layer design with a rated voltage of DC 1.0kV and AC 0.6/1.0kV. It also has weather resistance and UV resistance. It is mainly used for short-distance connection and cost optimization sections. It forms a layered matching with H1Z2Z2-K Solar Cable, which ensures performance while helping customers control the overall procurement cost.
In addition, other wires required for the project are customized on demand: the AC side uses 0.6/1kV XLPE Copper Cable, with common specifications of 3×240mm² and 3×185mm². It is made of copper core, which has the ability of centralized transmission of large current, adapting to the power transmission needs from the inverter to the step-up station. The MV side uses Medium Voltage Cable. Combined with common standards in the Polish market, we focus on providing 20kV specifications, supplemented by optional 15kV and 30kV specifications. The cross-sectional specifications cover 3×70mm² ~ 3×240mm², mainly using aluminum core, which meets the long-distance buried transmission needs from the step-up station to the grid connection point. Although its cost ratio is high, its unit price is lower than that of the DC side.
The grounding and auxiliary system uses Grounding Cable (specifications 1×16mm² / 1×25mm² Cu) and multi-core control cable. The control cable adopts XLPE/LSZH insulation sheath, which is low-smoke, halogen-free and cold-resistant (-40℃). It is designed with 0.6/1kV multi-core (4C / 7C / 12C) to ensure the safety of the power station grounding and the stable transmission of equipment signals.

Compared with other similar products, our advantages are reflected in four aspects: first, the certifications are complete and traceable, and the TÜV certificate number can be directly inquired, completely avoiding the risk of EU market access; second, the weather resistance performance is specially optimized to solve the pain point of cable cracking and aging in winter in Poland; third, the layered quotation design realizes the balance between cost and performance, meeting the customer's demand of "low price but compliance"; fourth, one-stop supply covers DC, AC, MV and grounding auxiliary systems, reducing the complexity of multi-channel procurement for customers and improving procurement efficiency.
III. Solution: Targeted Breakthrough, Solving Core Pain Points of the Project
In view of the five core pain points of the Rutki Project – cost pressure, compliance requirements, harsh climate, tight construction period and difficult grid connection – we set up a special project team, deeply docked with the needs of the EPC company, and formulated a customized solution to ensure the accurate implementation of each link and help the project advance smoothly.
1. Cost Optimization: Achieving the balance of "low price and compliance" through layered quotation + supply chain advantages. Considering the cost pressure of the EPC company, we abandoned the single quotation mode and adopted the layered quotation strategy of "H1Z2Z2-K Solar Cable + PV1-F Solar Cable". The core transmission area (modules → combiner boxes / inverters) uses H1Z2Z2-K Solar Cable (specifications 1×4mm², 1×6mm², the most common specifications in the project), accounting for more than 70% of the total DC side usage, ensuring transmission stability. Short-distance connection and non-core areas use PV1-F Solar Cable (specification 1×4mm²) to optimize costs. At the same time, relying on the scale advantage of China's supply chain, we compressed production and logistics costs. On the premise of ensuring compliance with EU standards, we provided customers with more competitive prices, ultimately helping customers reduce the overall cable procurement cost by about 12%, perfectly solving the contradiction of "low price but must be compliant". It is worth noting that the DC side cables account for the largest usage, accounting for about 40-55% of the total cable value, and our layered quotation strategy focuses on optimizing this core link to maximize the customer's return on investment.
2. Compliance Guarantee: Full certification coverage to avoid EU market access risks. We provided the customer with complete TÜV (certificate number B 126326 0001 Rev.00), IEC and CPR certification documents in advance, and arranged special personnel to dock with the customer's compliance review needs, providing product test reports, certificates of origin and other complete materials to ensure that the project passed the EU-related acceptance smoothly and laid a foundation for grid connection approval. Unlike other suppliers, our certification advantages are not only complete, but also traceable. Customers can directly query the authenticity of the certificate through the official channel, completely eliminating the customer's concern of "non-compliance leading to project failure".
3. Climate Adaptation: Special optimization to cope with harsh weather in Poland. In view of the cold, snowy and high humidity climate in northern Poland, we specially optimized the weather resistance of all wires. All solar cables are strengthened with UV protection and -40℃ cold resistance treatment, and the grounding cables and control cables also adopt cold-resistant materials to avoid insulation layer cracking and conductor embrittlement caused by low temperature in winter. After actual testing, our cables can still maintain good flexibility and electrical performance in the extreme low temperature environment of -35℃ in winter in Poland, fully meeting the project's environmental adaptation requirements.
4. Delivery Guarantee: Inventory management + efficient logistics to ensure the construction period. Considering the tight project schedule, we implemented inventory management for the conventional specifications of wires required for the project (such as H1Z2Z2-K 1×4mm², 1×6mm², PV1-F 1×4mm², 0.6/1kV XLPE Copper Cable 3×185mm², etc.). After receiving the order, we started the stock preparation process within 24 hours. At the same time, we optimized the logistics plan and chose a professional European dedicated line logistics partner. We prepared complete customs clearance materials in advance to ensure that the goods can be quickly cleared through Polish customs and delivered to the project site on schedule, avoiding construction delays caused by insufficient supply of auxiliary materials and striving for valuable time for the project's grid connection.
5. Grid Connection Assistance: Professional technical support to reduce uncertainty. In view of the serious queuing for grid connection in Poland and the long approval cycle, we arranged a professional technical team to provide relevant technical suggestions based on the transmission parameters of the cable configuration of the project, optimize the cable laying plan, reduce transmission loss, improve the compatibility of grid connection, and indirectly help the project shorten the grid connection approval cycle and reduce the uncertainty of project investment.
IV. Whole-Process Refined Control to Overcome Cross-Border Supply Difficulties
Cross-border supply of solar wires not only tests product quality, but also tests the overall coordination and control capabilities of the whole process. In view of the core difficulties of the Rutki Project, such as cross-border transportation, on-site adaptation and compliance acceptance, we have established a whole-process refined management system of "preliminary docking - production control - cross-border logistics - on-site service" to ensure zero deviation and zero delay in project execution and fully cooperate with the EPC company to promote the construction progress.
In the preliminary docking stage, we set up a special team composed of technology, business and logistics to deeply dock with the EPC company's construction plan, cable laying nodes and on-site environment needs. Combined with the climate characteristics and construction specifications of northern Poland, we optimized the cable packaging, marking and transportation plan. For the characteristics of cold-resistant cables, we adopted moisture-proof and anti-collision packaging to avoid product damage caused by low temperature and bumps during transportation. At the same time, we marked the specifications, uses and certification numbers clearly on each batch of cables, facilitating on-site construction personnel to sort and use them quickly and improving construction efficiency.
In the production control stage, we organized production in strict accordance with EU standards and project customization requirements, implementing a "special person supervision and whole-process testing" system. From the inspection of incoming raw materials to the stranding of conductors, extrusion of insulation layers and irradiation cross-linking, professional quality inspectors are arranged to supervise the whole process, focusing on testing the cold resistance, insulation performance and conductive performance of cables to ensure that each batch of products meets TÜV, IEC and CPR standards and is consistent with the test report data. For the conventional specifications of cables required for the project, we give priority to stock preparation and rapid production relying on our inventory advantages; for customized medium-voltage cables and multi-core control cables, we optimize the production process to shorten the production cycle and ensure that it does not affect the project construction nodes.
In the cross-border logistics and on-site service stage, we chose an experienced European dedicated line logistics partner, understood the Polish customs clearance requirements in advance, and prepared complete certification documents, certificates of origin and test reports to ensure rapid customs clearance of goods and avoid construction delays caused by customs clearance delays. After the goods arrived at the project site, we arranged technical personnel to follow up remotely, answer technical questions about cable laying, connection and protection for on-site construction personnel, provide professional suggestions on the laying spacing and protection measures of medium-voltage cables for long-distance burial, avoid cable damage caused by improper laying, and reserve a certain amount of spare cables to meet on-site emergency needs and ensure the smooth progress of construction. In addition, we have established a rapid after-sales response mechanism, promising to respond to customer after-sales needs within 24 hours and timely solve any product-related problems during project operation.
V. Professional Strength Solves Pain Points of Polish Solar Projects
The reason why the cooperation with the Rutki Project can achieve a win-win situation and become a benchmark case for the export of Chinese electrical wires to the EU solar market is that we accurately grasp the demand pain points of the Polish solar market and provide solutions that exceed customer expectations with "compliance as the foundation, quality as the core and service as the support". The core highlights and value of the cooperation are mainly reflected in three aspects.
First, compliance first, completely avoiding EU market access risks. The certification requirements for electrical equipment in Poland and the EU are extremely strict. Any non-compliant indicator may lead to project acceptance failure and inability to connect to the grid. Our solar wires not only have TÜV authoritative certification (certificate number B 126326 0001 Rev.00), but also fully comply with EU standards such as IEC and CPR. Each batch of products can provide complete test reports and certification documents, and we arrange special personnel to cooperate with customers in compliance review throughout the process to ensure that the project passes EU-related acceptance smoothly. Compared with other suppliers, our advantage lies in the completeness and traceability of certifications. Customers can directly query the certificate information through official channels, which eliminates customers' worries about "non-compliance" and is also one of the core reasons why the project party chose us.

Second, customized adaptation to balance cost and performance. Faced with the harsh requirement of the EPC company for "low price but compliance", we did not simply reduce product standards, but achieved the perfect balance of cost and performance through layered quotation and supply chain optimization. The layered matching strategy of H1Z2Z2-K Solar Cable and PV1-F Solar Cable not only ensures the stability of the core transmission area, but also optimizes the cost through economical cables, helping customers reduce procurement costs while ensuring project quality. At the same time, relying on the scale advantage of China's supply chain, we compress production and logistics costs, providing customers with more competitive prices under the premise of ensuring compliance and quality, which is in line with the current situation of fierce price competition in the Polish solar market.
Third, full-chain service reduces the difficulty of project promotion. From preliminary demand docking, program customization, production and delivery to on-site technical support and after-sales guarantee, we provide one-stop full-chain service, reducing the complexity of multi-channel procurement and multi-link docking for customers, helping customers save time and labor costs. For the pain points of difficult grid connection and tight construction period in Poland, we not only ensure the on-time delivery of goods, but also provide professional grid connection technical suggestions to help customers reduce the uncertainty of grid connection and improve the return on project investment. Customers can focus on project construction and operation, without worrying about the supply and compliance of auxiliary materials such as electrical wires.
