In the first quarter of 2024, our team partnered with the Fiji Savusavu local tourism development authority to undertake the facility upgrade and landscape improvement project of Nakama Hot Springs—a well-known geothermal tourist attraction located on Fiji’s northern island of Vanua Levu. As a key supplier of power cables for this project, we successfully solved the client’s urgent needs by providing high-quality, cost-effective, and timely-delivered cables, helping the project complete the upgrade on schedule and gain widespread recognition from the local government and tourists.
1. Urgent Renovation Needs and Cable Dilemmas in Fiji’s Hot Spring Scenic Area
Nakama Hot Springs, located in Savusavu, Fiji, is a famous geothermal attraction with a history of centuries—local villagers have long used its nearly 100℃ geothermal water to cook traditional foods, and it was officially listed as a tourist attraction in August 2022. To enhance the tourist experience and meet the growing demand for geothermal tourism, the local tourism development authority launched a comprehensive facility upgrade and landscape improvement project in early 2024. The project included upgrading the hot spring’s power supply system, installing new lighting facilities, renovating the surrounding landscape trails, and adding environmental protection equipment, all of which required a large number of high-quality power cables that could adapt to the harsh outdoor and geothermal environment.
Before cooperating with us, the client faced several critical dilemmas that hindered the project progress. First, the local cable supply in Fiji was limited, with few products meeting the strict safety standards required for geothermal and outdoor applications; most imported cables from other countries had excessively long delivery times and high prices, which would delay the project and increase the budget. Second, the hot spring environment is special—high temperature, high humidity, and occasional exposure to geothermal steam and corrosive substances, which require cables to have excellent high-temperature resistance, moisture resistance, and corrosion resistance. Third, the project involved both indoor power supply (such as control rooms) and outdoor laying (such as landscape lighting and underground power lines), requiring cables of different types and specifications to meet diverse installation needs. Finally, the client needed to complete the project before the peak tourist season in Fiji, so the delivery speed of cables became a key factor determining the project schedule.
After comparing multiple cable suppliers, the client chose us because of our professional experience in overseas power cable supply, short delivery cycle, competitive pricing, and complete product certification. They hoped we could provide a one-stop cable solution that not only meets the project’s technical requirements but also ensures on-time delivery to avoid delaying the renovation progress.
2. Tailored Cable Selection for Hot Spring Renovation Needs
After in-depth communication with the client and a detailed analysis of the project’s characteristics, our technical team customized a targeted cable solution, selecting three core cable types—TPS Cable, Multicore Flexible Cable, and Orange Circular Cable—and determining specific specifications based on different application scenarios. Each cable type was carefully selected to address the client’s pain points and adapt to the unique environment of the hot spring project.
The TPS Cable we provided is a flat, thermoplastic sheathed cable with a parallel conductor structure, which is very suitable for indoor and narrow-space wiring in the project. We selected two specifications for this project: 2-core + earth (1.5mm²) and 3-core + earth (2.5mm²). Compared with traditional round cables, TPS Cable has a flat structure that saves space, making it easy to lay in the narrow control rooms of the hot spring facility and the gaps of landscape facilities without causing cable entanglement. It also has excellent wear resistance and weather resistance, with a rated voltage of 450/750V and an operating temperature range of -30℃ to 90℃, which can adapt to the temperature changes in the hot spring environment. The client chose TPS Cable instead of ordinary round cables mainly because of its space-saving advantage and easy installation, which greatly reduced the labor cost and construction time of wiring.
For the parts that require frequent bending and movement, such as the connecting lines of movable lighting facilities and geothermal detection equipment, we recommended Multicore Flexible Cable with specifications of 4-core (4mm²) and 6-core (2.5mm²). This cable is made of multi-strand fine copper conductors, which ensures excellent flexibility even in low-temperature environments, making it easy to bend and install in complex spaces. It also has a thick PVC sheath that provides good protection against mechanical damage and moisture, avoiding cable damage caused by frequent movement or contact with geothermal steam. Compared with single-core cables, Multicore Flexible Cable integrates multiple conductors into one sheath, which not only simplifies the wiring process but also reduces the risk of signal interference, ensuring the stable operation of the power supply system.
For outdoor power distribution, such as underground power lines and outdoor lighting circuits, we provided Orange Circular Cable with specifications of 3-core + earth (10mm²) and 4-core + earth (16mm²). This cable is designed in a round shape with a distinctive orange outer sheath, which has strong UV resistance and mechanical durability, making it suitable for unenclosed outdoor installations, direct burial, and underground ducting. It meets the Australian standard AS/NZS 5000.2, with a rated voltage of 450/750V, and can withstand continuous operation at temperatures up to 90℃, with short-circuit ratings up to 250℃. The orange sheath also makes the cable easy to identify during construction and maintenance, reducing the risk of accidental damage. The client chose Orange Circular Cable because of its excellent outdoor adaptability—unlike ordinary outdoor cables, it can resist the erosion of geothermal steam and humid air, ensuring long-term stable operation in the hot spring environment.

All the cables we provided for this project are saa power cable, certified by Standards Australia (SAA), which ensures that they meet the rigorous electrical safety and quality requirements of Australia and Fiji. This certification was a key factor in the client’s decision to choose us, as it guaranteed the safety and reliability of the cables in the hot spring’s special environment.
3. Strict Quality Control and Certification Support
Safety is the top priority for power supply in hot spring projects—any cable failure may lead to power outages, equipment damage, or even safety accidents such as electric shocks. To ensure the safety and reliability of the cables, we implemented strict quality control throughout the production and testing process.
First, all raw materials used in the cables are selected from high-quality suppliers, including high-purity copper conductors, high-temperature resistant PVC insulation, and UV-resistant sheaths. Before production, each batch of raw materials undergoes strict testing to ensure they meet the SAA and international standards. During production, we adopt advanced production technology and automated equipment to control the thickness of the insulation layer, the tightness of the conductor stranding, and the quality of the sheath, avoiding defects such as insulation gaps and conductor oxidation.

After production, each batch of cables undergoes a series of rigorous tests, including insulation resistance testing, voltage withstand testing, high-temperature resistance testing, and moisture resistance testing. For example, the Orange Circular Cable was tested in a simulated hot spring environment (85℃, high humidity) for 168 hours, and the insulation resistance remained stable, proving its ability to adapt to the hot spring’s harsh conditions. All test reports are provided to the client to ensure transparency and credibility.
In addition to the SAA certification, our cables also meet the requirements of ISO, CE, and other international certifications, which not only ensures their safety and quality but also facilitates customs clearance in Fiji. The client highly recognized our quality control system, as it eliminated their concerns about cable failure and ensured the long-term stable operation of the hot spring’s power supply system.
4. Fast Response and Efficient Logistics to Ensure Project Progress
One of the client’s core pain points was the long delivery time of imported cables, which could easily delay the overall project progress. To solve this problem, we optimized both our production and logistics processes to ensure fast delivery without compromising quality.
After confirming the order, our production team immediately arranged a priority production plan dedicated to the Fiji project. Thanks to our mature production lines and sufficient raw material reserves, we completed the production of all cables (a total of 8,500 meters) in a very short timeframe—significantly faster than the typical industry lead time. Throughout the process, we kept the client updated on production progress, allowing them to clearly track delivery expectations.
On the logistics side, we partnered with experienced international freight providers familiar with Fiji routes and optimized the transportation plan to minimize transit time. By combining efficient sea freight with local inland delivery, we not only controlled costs but also ensured safe handling of the cables. Our streamlined logistics process enabled the shipment to reach Fiji quickly and be delivered to the project site without delay. We also supported the client with all necessary documentation and customs clearance procedures, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free import process.
