In 2025, as part of Togo’s national initiative to upgrade educational infrastructure, our team partnered with a local construction contractor in Lomé, the capital city of Togo, to provide high-quality electrical wires for the renovation and expansion of three public primary schools. The project aimed to improve the learning environment for over 1,200 students by upgrading outdated electrical systems, ensuring safe and stable power supply for classrooms, offices, and auxiliary facilities. This case study details how we addressed the client’s core pain points, delivered tailored wire solutions, and demonstrated our strength in wire export services for educational projects.
1. Challenges in Togo Lomé School Electrical Renovation
The three target schools in Lomé had been in use for over 20 years, with their original electrical systems becoming obsolete and unsafe. The local construction contractor, responsible for the renovation project, faced several critical challenges that threatened the project’s progress and safety standards:
First, the client struggled to find a reliable wire supplier that could provide a full range of products to meet the diverse needs of the school project. The project required wires for different scenarios—from indoor lighting circuits to outdoor power supply, each with specific specifications. Many suppliers could only provide partial product lines, forcing the client to coordinate with multiple vendors, which increased procurement costs and delayed the project timeline.
Second, the client prioritized product quality and safety, as the wires would be used in a school environment with a large number of children. Low-quality wires with poor insulation or unstable conductivity could lead to short circuits, electric shocks, or even fires, posing a serious threat to student safety. However, local suppliers in Togo often provided wires that failed to meet international safety standards, and importing from other countries raised concerns about certification compliance and product consistency.
Third, the client lacked experience in cooperating with international wire suppliers, especially for large-scale educational projects. They needed a partner who understood the local construction norms in Togo, could provide professional technical guidance, and ensure on-time delivery without delays. Additionally, the client required wires that were durable enough to withstand Lomé’s hot and humid climate, which can accelerate wire aging and reduce service life.
After researching multiple international suppliers, the client chose our company for our comprehensive product range, rich experience in educational infrastructure projects, and strict quality control standards—factors that directly addressed their core pain points.
2. Wire Selection for Lomé School Project
Based on the client’s needs and specific project requirements, we recommended three core wire models: H05V-R, H07V-K, and H05VV-F, each selected for its unique advantages and adaptability to different scenarios of the school renovation. We also provided detailed specifications to ensure perfect compatibility with the project’s electrical design. The client purchased a total of 8,500 meters of wires, covering all areas of the three schools. Each wire model was matched with exclusive specifications suitable for its scenario, with no more than 4-5 specifications per model, accurately meeting the project’s needs.
The H05V-R wire was selected as the main wire for indoor lighting circuits, with four specifications: 1.0mm², H05V-R 1.5mm², 2.5mm², and 4.0mm². Among them, the H05V-R 1.5mm² specification was widely used in classrooms and corridors, 1.0mm² for small lighting fixture circuits, and 2.5mm² and 4.0mm² for centralized corridor lighting and emergency lighting circuits. These specifications were chosen for their excellent conductivity and flexibility, making them easy to install in narrow spaces such as wall cavities and ceiling gaps. Unlike ordinary PVC wires, the H05V-R wire adopts a flame-retardant PVC insulation layer complying with IEC 60332-1 standards, which can reduce the risk of fire spread in case of short circuits. Its operating temperature range of -20℃ to +80℃ ensures stable performance even in Lomé’s hot climate, and its rated voltage of 300/500V is fully compatible with the school’s low-voltage lighting system.
For the school’s power supply circuits (such as those used for office equipment, water heaters, air conditioners, etc.), we recommended the H07V-K wire, which includes four specifications: 1.5mm², 2.5mm², 4.0mm², and 6.0mm², adapting to the needs of different power equipment. 1.5mm² is used for small office equipment circuits, 2.5mm² and 4.0mm² for common high-power equipment such as air conditioners and water heaters, and 6.0mm² for the main lines of the school’s power distribution room. Compared with H05V-R, H07V-K has a higher rated voltage (450/750V) and a thicker insulation layer, with stronger resistance to electrical overload and mechanical damage. Its class 2 stranded copper conductor ensures excellent conductivity and durability, reducing the risk of power outages caused by wire aging. This wire is particularly suitable for high-power equipment in schools, as it can withstand higher current loads without overheating.

For outdoor areas such as campus courtyards and playground lighting, we provided theH05VV-F wire, which is a multi-core wire with 2 cores and 3 cores, including three specifications: 1.5mm², 2.5mm², and 4.0mm², accurately adapting to different outdoor scenarios. The 2-core H05VV-F (1.5mm² and 2.5mm²) is used for small courtyard light circuits and main playground lighting circuits, while the 3-core H05VV-F (4.0mm²) is used for main lines from outdoor distribution boxes to lighting areas, which can simultaneously transmit live wire, neutral wire and ground wire to ensure safe and stable power supply. The wire adopts a double-layer PVC sheath, which can effectively protect against moisture, dust, and ultraviolet rays—critical for Lomé’s humid and sunny climate. Unlike single-sheathed wires, the H05VV-F wire is waterproof and corrosion-resistant, ensuring a long service life even when exposed to outdoor environments. Its flexible structure also facilitates laying along the ground or fixing to outdoor fixtures.
In addition to the above core models, we also provided customized wire colors (including green/yellow double-color ground wires, blue neutral wires, and brown live wires) to comply with Togo’s electrical wiring norms and international standards, ensuring convenient identification during installation and maintenance.
3. Certifications and Quality Control
Safety was the top priority for this school project, and our product certifications and strict quality control processes were key factors in the client’s decision to choose us. All wires provided for the Lomé school project hold international certifications, including CE (compliant with EU LVD and EMC directives), VDE, and ISO 9001, ensuring they meet the highest safety and quality standards worldwide.
Our H05V-R, H07V-K, and H05VV-F wires all undergo rigorous testing before export, including insulation resistance tests (minimum 10 MΩ x km), flame retardant tests, and conductivity tests. We use 99.97% pure copper conductors to ensure stable conductivity and reduce energy loss, while the PVC insulation material is RoHS-compliant, free from harmful substances that could pose a risk to student health. Each batch of wires is accompanied by a detailed test report, providing the client with full transparency and confidence in product quality.

Compared to other suppliers, our advantage lies in our commitment to quality consistency. We have a dedicated quality control team that monitors every stage of production, from raw material procurement to packaging and delivery. This ensures that every meter of wire delivered to the Lomé project meets the same high standards, eliminating the risk of defective products that could compromise the project’s safety.
4. Efficient and Hassle-Free Export Service
Understanding the client’s urgency to complete the school renovation on time, we optimized our delivery process to ensure efficient and hassle-free export. We first confirmed the client’s requirements in detail, including wire specifications, quantities, and delivery terms, and provided a clear timeline to keep the client informed of every step.
Given that Lomé is a coastal city, we arranged for sea freight to deliver the wires, which is both cost-effective and suitable for large-quantity shipments. We handled all export procedures, including customs declaration, documentation, and certification, relieving the client of the complex paperwork and logistics challenges that often come with international trade. Our team also coordinated with local logistics partners in Togo to ensure the wires were delivered directly to the construction site, reducing the client’s transportation burden.
During the delivery process, we maintained regular communication with the client, providing real-time updates on the shipment’s status. We also sent a technical team to the construction site to provide on-site guidance on wire installation, helping the client’s workers correctly lay and connect the wires according to international standards. This technical support ensured that the electrical system was installed safely and efficiently, avoiding delays caused by incorrect installation.
